Forresters proudly supported the University of Chester‘s Venture Pitch programme again on 6 June. Venture Pitch is an annual event for student entrepreneurs to pitch their business ideas to a panel of judges for the chance to win a unique selection of prizes to support their budding careers.
Over 1,500 University of Chester students and graduates took part in the event, and this year’s Venture Pitch marked the creation of over 140 new businesses.
Nine participants pitched successfully and were awarded a range of business support packages, including Helle Hammonds of Thrive Continuum, who was awarded a two-hour trade mark consultation and fees covered by Forresters, as well as £500 in funding from Santander, a professional photography shoot, and six months of business mentoring with Chris Sharkey.

Our Senior Associate David Murphy was once again on this year’s judging panel. “This year’s Venture Pitch programme featured another group of passionate students with a range of promising business ideas,” David told us. “I am always impressed with the professionalism and dedication on display at this event. Forresters is pleased to support the programme and help the students and graduates to appreciate the role IP plays in entrepreneurship and building a business.”
We would like to extend our congratulations to all participating student entrepreneurs. Forresters looks forward to continuing to support the Venture Pitch programme in years to come.
